At Astronomy Camp, we reside at the historic observatory atop Mt. Lemmon (9200 ft; 2804 m). We observe the skies from there and from nearby Mt. Bigelow (8552 ft; 2606 m). Advanced Teen Campers also take a day/night trip to Mt. Graham (10,742 ft; 3269 m) to use the 10 m Submillimeter Telescope (SMT) in-person while residing in the world’s largest optical telescope (the 22.8 m Large Binocular Telescope [LBT]), and touring the 1.8 m Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT).
